This technique uses X-rays to produce images of the jaws, teeth, and surrounding areas. Also, it is used in the diagnosis and medical evaluation of diseases and health conditions concerning jaws and teeth. For example, locating cysts and abscesses, assessing the need for surgery, and the health of the jaws and teeth before orthodontic and dental treatment.

Panoramic imaging procedure:

  • The imaging device is placed in a specific position behind the head and jaws.
  • The patient is asked to open their mouth as wide as possible to allow the device to capture an image of the teeth and jaws.
  • The device captures and analyzes the image to diagnose problems in the jaws or teeth.

Cephalometric imaging procedure:

  • The imaging device is placed in a specific position behind the head and jaws.
  • The images are analyzed to diagnose the position of the jaws and assist with the orthodontic process of the jaws and teeth.
